 BIOGRAPHY OF BOFUA GEH

Francis Leo Bofua M Geh, fondly called Bo Geh, was born on the 2nd of June 1991 in Yaoundé to Dr. George Geh and Dr. Anunciatta Yang Geh nee Kume. Bo was the second of three sons Doctor and Mrs. Geh were blessed with. He received the sacrament of baptism on the 28th of February 1998 at St. Peters Catholic Church Bambui, the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist on August 9th 1998 at St. Therese Church Azire and the Holy Sacrament of Confirmation on May 5th 2002 at Sacred Heart College.  He was guided in this spiritual journey by Mr. Nicholas Ikunge Kume and Dr. Kate Gola Kume nee Shey, as Godparents.

In September of 1993 Bo was enrolled in Step by Step Nursery School where he completed one term. In January 1994, he transferred to the PNEU nursery and primary school where he graduated in 2001 with outstanding results in the Common Entrance Exams and First School Leaving Certificate.

Following this brilliant performance in primary school, Bo joined the ranks of the brightest of his generation in Sacred Heart College, Mankon in September of 2001. In complement to a very rigorous academic program, Bo learnt many life lessons at Sacred Heart College as supported by testimonials from friends, classmates, teachers and family members. In the summer of 2006, Bo graduated with eleven papers in the GCE “O” Levels: 8As, 2Bs, and 1C.

With such an outstanding performance, Bo was convinced that his place was among the best and the brightest. As such that summer, Bo enrolled in high school in Sacred Heart College. Two years later, September 2008, Bo graduated and was successful in 5 of 5 courses at the GCE A levels with 2As and 3Bs. In addition to the academic load, Bo piled up an impressive array of responsibilities. While at Sacred Heart, Bo`s leadership skills were obvious. As early as form two he was elected class prefect and began working as a junior sacristan in forms two, three and four. He was very attentive to his fellow students, willing to listen and accept criticism. He was always committed to produce the best results possible prompting one of his teachers to describe him as “a raw diamond which when polished will shine not only for his good, but also for the world at large”. Bo was elected singing prefect and appointed study prefect a few months later. It was the first time in the history of the institution that a student was given both responsibilities simultaneously. Bo was an ardent member of the school drama club and also the school instrumentalist possessing remarkable mastery of the guitar and piano.

Before his death, Bo was preparing to take the SAT exams in preparation to continue his studies in the USA. As was typical for him, he spent most of his time with family in Douala especially his cousin Floribert, for whom he worked as a budding engineer in his marine company. Bo leaves behind two brothers, his Mother and Father, God parents, Family, friends and classmates to mourn for him. It was a brief life but one well spent and we are eternally grateful for all the great memories he left us with.

May His Soul Rest in the Perfect Peace of Christ
