Bogeh

We remember happy days with you during holidays in Douala and Bamenda. Last time you came to see us (three weeks ago), we played KUNG FU PANDA on the PS3. You let us win so we could feel good. You played a lot with Anthony and went downstairs to play songs on the piano. You said they were songs from your school. You promised us you will spend more time with us on Sunday. We looked forward to seeing you on Sunday. Sunday was a sad day because you died on that day.  Why would anybody take your life? You are so kind and would not hurt anybody.

Junior: Thank you for teaching me how to play many songs on the piano. These were songs I loved and never thought I could play. I admired you, for you were very intelligent, funny and hardworking. I also liked you a lot because you looked so much like my father. Thank you for making sure we prayed. Thank you for being a good big brother. You always took time to make me feel special. Thank you, Bogeh.

Michael: Thank you for always being kind and for always smiling with me. I am happy you were my cousin, my brother and my friend. I wish you would come and visit us again. I wish you would just get up like in the movies. Mummy says you have gone to stay with Jesus Christ and PAPA and that one day we shall all be together again. Thank you for teaching me so many songs. “Anthony keeps on saying Bogeh is not dead. He will come very soon.” I am praying that Jesus Christ should wake you up.

We miss you, Bogeh…

I HAVE A DATE

Unknown to you, today is the day I meet my sweetheart

A date with my most precious, a young lady both fair and delicate

A tug here, a shrug there, a wink, a nod and a smile at picture perfect.

Humming cheerily and a few dance steps to kick off the evening

And I’m off to be with the love of my life

Oh friends, if only you knew what glory unfolds tonight

You will come along that this parting be made right.

So come on sister lets go, pay no heed to them

For they know not the young lady who pulls at my heart’s strings.

No taxi, no bus, no matter, we will take the shuttle

For I am off to be with Mary the mother of the innocent

What gentle waves come in, a cool breeze to accompany the messengers

Under the cloak of darkness, and clouds of evening haze

They speed with unwavering intent to deliver the message

That today I have a date with the most high.

Unmask yourselves sirs, show your faces in daylight

For a message of great import you bear

Hide not your faces for you do the will of my father

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Sixteen papers in all at the GCE, a future not in doubt.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

A son beloved by all, the light of our live

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Be not ashamed gentlemen of your courage and these acts of valor

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

You are only instruments of my destiny, the will of my father in heaven

So arise mother from these ashes of mourning

Wipe your tears, a touch of lip stick to your lips

Up Ndi Geh, put a spring to your step and take Achuo’s hand,

Let me see your face father, come on dad bow not your head

Uncles, Aunties, Brothers & Sisters lift those shoulders up

For today, clad in garments of white and gold,

With silverware of the finest metal, I dine with the king

Seated at the right hand of the father almighty

A prince has taken his taken his proper place

Yesterday, an engineer in the making, today a soldier in the army of the lord

BO GEH

Sweet memories of Baby Bo!

You were the first Kume Baby I carried; on the first day Pa Junior introduced me to Auntie Yang. You were so cute and I fell in love with you on that day. Growing up you were particularly interested in me. I really looked forward to seeing you whenever we were in Cameroon. We shared I bond I could not describe. Was it because you looked so much like your uncle (Uncle Nico)? Was because you were Gemini like me? I can remember you questioning me whenever you realized I could not spend the night in your house. I can see that disappointed look on your face when I had to go!

The Perfect God Son.

When you picked me to be your God Mother, I felt so special and blessed. I wish the good Lord had given me more time with you. God gave me an angel in disguise - A God Son called BO. A gentle and loving heart!

Memories of your ready and warm smile, your inquisitive and bright nature will always be in my heart. Like Jesus you suffered a painful death for no reason. Is it God’s way of showing us something?

You always made people laugh! I can remember that Sunday in Ndobo. We stopped to buy meat and you went out! With your height and size the soya sellers thought you were older and had so much money to spend. You went on tasting from stand to stand and everybody was laughing in the car. They were all laughing and had tears in their eyes because you were acting “A big OGA” so well, tasting the soya even though you had no franc in your pocket.

BIG HANDSOME BO!

You were always so pleased every time I told you that you looked like Uncle Nico.  I remember you asking me for supplements that could make you grow more muscles and look bigger so you could be exactly like him.

SWEET and Gentle Bo!

You lived your life like you knew it was short. You touched so many  lives in your 17 years of life. You lived your life loving all who came your way. You cared about people! You had a ready smile for all. Your heart was full of kindness! You gave and expected nothing in return. You showed so much gratitude, no matter how little you were given. You loved God our creator so much and put HIM first. He has called you and you have answered! I am proud of you. He has a better plan for you. He will make you the brilliant engineer!

Till we meet again!

Bofua... I can still hear Father Ambes' voice echoing

" tHe dreaM, Not fully dReamt." in another occasion.

And when I think of you, it's just the image of this guy smiling that i see. You know why?.. because that's the way you showed yourself to be; that was you.

You thought me that smiling at our worries would enable us cross these with less difficulty.

I am glad to have been part of your world, to have some experiences in common with you; the joy, love, kindness.

you were always my last chance for readers, when i had no hope,i would run to you and you had always accepted; mass, benediction. Your presence has always been marked with joy and laughter.

It's painful it did end this soon. We miss you Bofua.

And the Angels of God welcome you home.

1 minute pour t'apprecier,

1 jour pour t'aimer,

1 vie entier pour t'oublier,

Tu resteras gravé dans nos memoires.

Que ton Ame répose en paix, Amen.
